Full Term! 37 weeks!

So this past week has been no where near as stressful or terrible as I expected which was such a needed blessing. I know I've kinda turned into a "Debbie Downer" the past couple of weeks but I'm really starting to be OK with everything that hasn't been "perfect" this 9 months. It's always hard to take a step back and look at things from a different perspective when you're so close to the situation....but I think I'm getting there. It may have also helped that my hematologist appointment went almost the exact opposite way I thought it would. The office is still terrible with cranky nurses and long waits, but the doctor told me that my blood platelets had actually INCREASED instead of decreased like they expected. I don't know if it was a fluke or caused by the more fruit and veggie filled diet or helped along with the B6/B12/Folic Acid pills he prescribed, but I'll take it. I don't have to go back for 2 weeks which worries me a little because what if they drop dramatically by then. I'll be a week away from my c-section and that's not a lot of time to fix a problem if one arises, but I guess we will deal with that if it happens.
On Friday, Ava and I went and completed our registry. There was an amazing deal on diapers and wipes so we went without Michael but it was totally worth it. Ava was awesome as we picked everything out. She kept saying "Dava buying diapers (wipes, breast pump stuff, etc as we went around the store) for Greyson" She didn't even ask for anything when we were in the toy aisles. What a good big sister she is going to be! :) When we got home she started helping me put things away and I can happily say that almost everything is ready for the little man! After 2 full days of laundry he even has clean clothes, blankets, and sheets!! :) I'll take pictures this week and get them up here for you guys. And before you ask, I promise I took a nap after all of that. :)
So now onto Greyson!!!!!!!!! He now weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches. I had a dream this week that he came out as a 6lb'er and everyone laughed at me for being dramatic this pregnancy about his size and being uncomfortable. I don't know if it's true, but I'm getting myself ready for a 6lb'er or a 10lb'er just in case. Head to heel baby center says he is like a "stalk of swiss chard." Ummmmm OK. :) They also say that many babies have a full head of hair at birth with locks from 1/2 an inch to 1 1/2 inches long. Ava was born with a mohawk so I'm thinking he will have a little bit of hair, but you never know! They say that while he doesn't have a whole lot of room to move around in there anymore I should still feel the same amount of movement. (check!) He loves my right side and anything to do with my ribs. Ava will use my bump as a pillow when we cuddle watching TV and when he kicks her she will pat my tummy and say "silly Greyson kicked me." I wish I knew what was going on in her head. Every baby we see she says "Greyson?" and when I tell her he's on his way and he will be here in a few weeks she says "He's driving here---parking his car." Get ready kid...this car is almost parked. I hope you're ready!
Happy Easter everyone! I will post about our day sometime this week!  16 days left!!!
Have a wonderful week!
Love and Ava hugs,
Rachel
