Daddy's birthday!

Sunday was Michael's 34th Birthday and what a fun family day we had. :) During the week Ava and I decided to make Daddy a card. I was going to put her cute little hand and footprints on it and then let her color all over it. So Friday morning we started painting....and it got a little out of control. While my idea was nice in theory, I had forgotten how much Ava liked to finger paint. She is definitely in the 2 year old independent stage where everything has to be done her way. So about 2 minutes into our project I decided that we would make him wrapping paper instead of a card and got out all the white paper I could find. She had a blast. Her, the floor, the paper----everything was covered with paint. By the time I realized how messy this was going to get she it was too late to try to get her pj's off her so even Minnie wasn't safe. :) We had a blast. she kept asking me if she could paint my feet. No thanks Ava....

While we were painting I asked Ava what we should do with Daddy on his birthday and she of course said "Go swimming with Daddy on birthday" so I called Mike and told him no pressure, but this is what Ava thinks you should do on your birthday. Swimming? With Ava? Easy sell....so Sunday morning we went out to the pool to let our little fish have some fun.

Daddy and Ava eating snack and cuddling...She was not happy that we took her out of the pool. Daddy was happy to get some cuddles though! :)

After nap we took Daddy to Dave & Busters. This is a favorite of both Mike and Ava. We decided to go to dinner there first which is always fun with a 2 year old who knows what's beyond the restaurant. Once she figured it out that we weren't giving in and that we would be finishing dinner like a normal family she had a good time. Once back there Ava found a car game and her and daddy played....well Daddy was her booster seat. Every time Mike went to touch the wheel to help her she would push his hands away. There was one other woman playing against Ava and I have to tell you that little miss Ava won 1st place in that race. Even without Daddy's help.

Ava collecting her tickets! :)

What a wonderful fun day we had with Daddy. :) We are the luckiest girls in the world to have some such a fabulous man in our lives.
Love and Ava hugs,
Rachel
