ROADTRIP!

Mike had a training up in Jacksonville this week and Ava and I decided to join him. He got last Friday off as well so we decided to take a road trip up to St.Augustine to explore before we headed to Jacksonville. It's about a 5 hour trip and our little potty trained angel did really well. We had one time that she said she had to pee and didn't but other then that she told us everytime. It took a little bit longer, but she did amazing. She kept yelling "roadtrips are awesome" and watched Cars.
Wendy's for dinner on our roadtrip!

Yummmmm.....chicken!

Ava's shirt says "Roadtrips are AWESOME!" That they are...

Ava jumped into bed as soon as we arrived (6pm)....roadtrips are EXHAUSTING!

Pictures mommy? Really?

Daddy and Ava playing with the cd player in our room!

I LOVE to dance! :)

It was a bit rainy when we got to St. Augustine. We went for a little walk anyways.
The following morning----breakfast at the hotel. Yes.....goldfish for breakfast!

Happy girl!

After breakfast we went for a little walk....

or run.....

bye bye Ava!

She's a runner.....like her mama!

LOVE LOVE LOVE that face.
Yes, I did take a picture of our shawdows.....Ava holding both our hands. :)

Me and my beauty at the Castillo de San Marcos

Posing for mama!

Checking out the Castillo
Mike's not smiling, but it's the only picture I got of the 3 of us. :)

Running around the Castillo with Daddy...

A little swinging...

After visiting the Castillo we took Ava on the trolley.....LOVE.

Listening to the sight seeing tour!

Trolley's are like trains = happy happy girl.

Our beautiful hotel---the Casa Monica

Trolley love.
It had started getting realllllyyyyyy cold so we bought Ava a pirate hat. It came with a free flag. We were actually the store's 1st customers and got our picture taken---we are probably on facebook or a blog somewhere. She is also now a professional at saying "Arrrrrghhhh" :)

After a quick nap at the hotel----more trolley fun! :)

On Sunday it was FREEEEEEEEZING. Literally. I woke up and the weather said 28 degrees. This was not what the weather man told me on Thursday/Friday when I packed. And of course when I was pregnant with Ava it was the worst part of summer so winter maternity clothes are NOT part of my wardrobe. Luckily little man is a bit of a heater so I didn't freeze. We had to leave for Jacksonville, but Ava INSISTED on one more trolley ride. FREEEEEEEZINGGGGGGGGGGG.
My little popsicle.

We got to Jacksonville with no problems. Mike had a training on Monday and Tuesday so Ava and I hung out while he was there. I got to see 2 of my favorite sorority sisters for lunch and went to an AMAZING outdoor mall. After class on Monday, Mike and I took Ava down to The Landing to look at the boats. We went for a little run/walk and looked at all the bridges and fun things down by the river.

Ava and Daddy running...mama's not allowed still. :(

The happiest little face.

Favorite. Pure joy.

On Tuesday while Mike was in class I took Ava to the zoo. The Jacksonville Zoo has a train........we rode it 3 times.

Mommy Ava Valentine's Day! :) My little monkey on the train!
Checking her map to make sure we didn't miss any animals!

There were no penguins outside----this is as close as we got. :(

There is a carosel at the zoo....it was really hard to keep a hand on her take a picture.....

Ava, her map, and a gorilla.

Ava LOVED the giraffes. LOVED them. We would have fed them, but 2 of them were having "aggression problems" so we weren't allowed.

Ava and her new friends---a mommy group.

Have you ever seen such a happy girl?

After the zoo Ava and I went shopping because we had to check out of the hotel that morning and Daddy wasn't quite done with his class yet. On the way to pick him up she fell asleep and slept for about an hour and a half of the drive home. She was OUT.

Such a super fun trip with lots of family time..It may be our last trip as a threesome so getting to spend that much time alone was really nice.  I don't think we could have asked for a happier little lady or a better 1st roadtrip with our potty trained girl. Until Sunday...
Love and Ava hugs,
Rachel
