Welcome to week 30!
We are now in the 60's because while my due date is in 70 days I will be having our little monkey at 39 weeks 2 days.....if he decides to cooperate with our c-section date of April 24th that is. You never know---babies have a mind of their own sometimes! I will be confirming this date with my doctor on Tuesday when I go in for my checkup so i'll keep you posted! :) I can't really believe that he will be here in 2 months....well I can if I look at my belly, but I really feel like time has flown and while I may be ridiculously round everything else has gone really fast. I hope i'm not jinxing myself. I've started to have a little trouble sleeping at night and by naptime (thank God for naptime) i'm so tired I need a break but most of the time I feel good. He lets me know when he's starving and i'm consistantly hungry at 11pm. And if I go to bed before that i'll wake up at 3am starving. It's terrible. He's a growing boy---he apparently needs more food. I've also been making myself drink a TON of water. They say it helps get toxins out of your body and keep swelling down. I DO NOT want to get swollen like I did with Ava and I definitely do not want any bed rest because of swelling so i'll try anything. That could also be part of the problem of waking up 10 times a night......but whatever, i'm about to be sleep deprived anyways. At least right now I can nap when Ava does......the same might not be true when our new bundle arrives.
Now onto the reason we are are all reading this....little man is about 15.7 inches long now, and he weighs almost 3 pounds----the size of a head of cabbage. A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds him, but that volume will decrease as he gets bigger and takes up more room. His eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after he's born, he'll keep his eyes closed for a good part of the day. When he does open them, he'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means he can only make out objects a few inches from his face. Poor guy---that's probably how I see without my contacts. I feel for you kid... :)
I'll let you know if anything fun happens at my doctors appointment, but i'm pretty sure it will just be the normal weight (blah), blood pressure, heartbeat, measure kinda visit.
Love and Ava hugs,
Rachel
