Happy New Year! and 23 weeks!

Happy 2012! and Happy 23 weeks! 

We had a very uneventful but wonderful New Years Eve last night. We tried to go out to dinner, but apparently everyone had our 5pm dinner plans so we ended up getting dressed up to get ourselves some delicious Wendy's drive thru! :) Ava ate 3 chicken nuggets so to me that is a winning situation. I never thought in I'd be excited for my child to eat fast food, but honestly anything new at this point is fabulous to me. :)  I know, I know....mother of the year. It's a new year now though so maybe she'll start eating more things and I can work on it. Until then, bring on the Wendy's nuggets! Just not every night....

Once Ava went down for the night, Mike and I ended up watching a movie and drinking some sparkling grape juice. It was delicious and I drank 3 glasses---watch out work, this preggo was getting a little crazy.

 We ended the night watching New Years Eve with Dick Clark and trying to figure out what the heck Lady GaGa was wearing. She looked like an octopus. I love most of her music, but I just don't get it. Maybe I am getting old. :( 

So now onto our little man! :) We have now cleaned out all of the Christmas stuff and his room is almost emptied of toys which means it's almost time to start painting and decorating! :) I've gotten his sheets so i'm ready....

23 weeks

This week he is over 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound. Baby Center says I should now be able to see him squirm under my shirt, but that's been happening for a few weeks now. He definitely jumps around a lot when i'm resting. I love that feeling. :)  Blood vessels in his lungs are developing to help prepare him for breathing. He is also starting to hear better and better each week. They say loud noises that he becomes familiar with now probably won't faze him when he hears them outside the womb. Thank goodness for that because Ava is talking more and more and sometimes she's very loud. :) 

We have an ultrasound on Friday to check on my placenta and to see the cute little monkey. I'm excited for Ava to see her little brother. She already says he's her best friend. :) We will see how long that lasts once he's out and screaming. :) 

Here are a few more pictures of Ava. She has become quite the ham lately since I got my remote and external flash for my camera. She may love them more then I do. :)

We hope you had a lovely New Years Eve. 2011 was full of family, friends and enormous blessings. I  can't wait to see what 2012 has in store for us....and I especially can't wait to meet the little man. Here's to 2012 being the best year ever....
