This week has FLOWN by. On Tuesday, Maya flew in to visit us for the week and we definitely kept busy with parks, sunshine, and one big surprise. Tuesday afternoon Ava took a 3 hour nap--I had to wake her up so we could go pick up Maya at the airport. After about 5 minutes of talking to her and rubbing her back I decided to go get my camera and take pictures of the sleepy head. She was so cuddley and cute! :)

If she's like this at 2 I'm scared to see what she's like at 15. :) My little lady likes her sleep!

Mommy! I'm sleeping!
When we got home from the airport, Ava and Maya had a little bonding time over an iphone. :)
And of course a little train playing....Maya is now a fabulous train track builder. :)

Ava you're not supposed to stand on the round house silly! :)
Thursday morning was our surprise day. :) Mike works ridiculously hard everyday at work so our weekends are usually packed with family fun days. My neighbor Lisa offered to paint the baby's room one day while Mike was at work to help me surprise him...and give him more time to spend with us and not a paintbrush. Since Maya was in town it was the perfect time to do it....2 non-preggos, a two year old, and a preggo (who watched cautiously from the sidelines) could obviously get a room painted in a day. It was definitely a success and I'm so thankful to both of them. Lisa worked ridiculously hard making sure holes were filled and sanded down to a standard we both knew would make Mike happy. Maya did an entire wall of the room by herself and I have to say it looks pretty amazing. Ava stayed happy and content most of the day even being cooped up inside when the weather outside was gorgeous. The room looks FABULOUS and Mike was definitely surprised! :) It was a good day and i'm so thankful to have such wonderful people in our lives who would take the time and do something like that for us....
Thank you Lisa and Maya!

The next day we decided to try to find Ava a pool to play in. The days have been amazing with highs in the low 70's and it was just perfect for Maya who lives in St.Louis for school. Unfortunately though---we live in Florida and the only pool we could find this "winter" was a little mini blow up pool. I was hoping to find one of those plastic ones but I guess beggers can't be choosers in the middle of January. :) Ava adored her "pool" and played in it happily. Totally worth the $12 I spent on it. :) Here are a few pictures of her being just adorable. :)

At this point, Maya was laying out by the lake to get a little more sunshine and Ava kept bringing her toys so she wouldn't get bored. :)
All in all it was a fabulous visit. Ava adores Maya and I think the feeling may be mutual. What a good week.... Thank you Maya for coming and bringing a little more sunshine to us. We love you and miss you. Have fun at Rush and school and remember to take a little break once in a while and focus on the fun things in life.
Love and Ava hugs, Rachel
