"Tort and Plagio"

For the past couple of months we have been on quite the adventure with our little man. At 4 months he was diagnosed with something called Torticollis which is pretty much a stiff neck muscle. It is caused in the womb when the baby is stuck in one position due to lack of room...and since Greyson was huge his space in there was probably lacking a bit. So we decided to do 6 weeks of physical therapy and then re-evaluate the situation at 6 months. His "tort" was causing him to get a flat spot on the back left side of his head which is called Plagiocephaly. He has a very mild case of it, but somehow in the 6 weeks it ended up getting a little bit worse. So we decided to helmet his poor little head. We got his helmet last Wednesday (2 days before we left for Disney--ugh) and from day one he had to wear it 23 hours a day. Only off for bath and a little cuddle time. Since we've had it he really hasn't had any issues with it. I did a lot of research before we got it and people said that the transition was awful and that sometimes parents gave up because it was that bad. Maybe because I was prepared for the worst it was easier? I don't know, but I'm soooooo thankful. He even did amazing in Disney though I'm happy that it wasn't 90 degrees outside because he definitely is a little sweat ball when he wears it. :) Here are a few pictures of the journey.
You can see his flat spot at the bottom right of this picture.

His little hat for his head scan.

Waiting for his helmet!

Hey mom!

I'd like to crawl please. :)
Looking handsome!

Mommy blinged out my helmet with her cricut and some vinyl. Super easy and fun...he will probably have a new design weekly. :)

I have a helmet? I had no idea it was on my head! :)

Mickey Mouse in honor of our vacation.

Love and Ava hugs,
Rachel
