Hi all!
Welcome to week 24! There's a lot going on with Ava this week so lets get right to it....
She is now growing steadily and has gained about 4 ounces in the past week! They say that would bring her just over a pound, but as we stated our little lady is a little large so I'm thinking it's closer to two. Keep growing lady---mama can handle it. She is also about a foot long---which is about the length of an ear of corn. :)
Her body is starting to fill out all of her extra skin and wrinkles and her brain is growing quickly now. She is also continuing to develop her taste buds......I'm hoping she likes watermelon and milkshakes (not together) because that's what her mama likes! :)
Ava's little lungs are developing the "branches" of the respiratory tree as well as cells that produce surfactant---which is a substance that will help her air sacs inflate once she hits the outside world.
Our little lady's skin is still thin and translucent, but will start to change soon. :)
So she's going to be a busy little bee this week as we make our way into our 6th month. Hows the blog working out for everyone? Good I hope because it's easier for us....but let me know!
We're doing good---not so much going on since the last time we wrote. Ohhh I did find a new doctor up in Broward county and he's fabulous. I'm excited that it seems to be a really easy transition. :) We're also going to be test driving cars soon too----we won't be buying til like August, but we decided to do it now before I get so big that I just don't fit in anything comfortably. Bring on the 4 doors! :)
Ok beautiful friends and family---it is time to get our Sunday started. I hope you all have a fabulous fantastic and wonderful week!!
Love,
Rachel (and Mike)

You are in the end game! YAY!
